Think nostalgic camping — stepping back to how camping used to be growing up.
Our peaceful, safe haven is a perfect base for exploring Banks Peninsula. Kids play on the trampoline or in the river, exploring and being adventurous, while you sit back and relax knowing they’re safe.
We are a small business 100% kiwi owned and not affiliated with any chain of holiday parks. If you’re seeking somewhere special and memorable, this is absolutely it!
Hot showers – The showers take a $2 coin for a 5-minute hot shower. We can exchange cash for coins.
Picnic table and play area – Adjacent to the kitchen is our huge picnic table which can seat over 20 people. The playground is nearby so you can still cook and keep an eye on the kids!
Giant Swing – Our ‘Kowhai kisser’ giant swing out of a 200-year-old matai tree. Scary, a bit dangerous and thrilling!
Sun-safe camping – We have plenty of trees, so over busy times a gazebo may not be needed.
Waterless composting toilets – We have dry composting eco toilets that do not use water and are chemically free.
• While cute and functional, please note this is a basic and rather dated cottage so don’t expect too much.
• Linen can be hired but we recommend bringing your own bedding (sheets, duvet or sleeping bags)
• Dogs are permitted inside for a $20 fee payable on arrival.
• Space beside the cabin suited for a vehicle or tent
• During the long weekends and our busy season, we prefer multi-night bookings
• We are a zero waste camp, so what you bring in, you take out. Packaging, bottles etc. Except your food scraps, which we have organic bins for. There are waste and recycling bins in Little River township
• When busy, we encourage vehicles to park on the roadside to help improve child safety
