Located on the way to Akaroa along State Highway 75, Little River is a quaint township with loads of charm and appeal. Two places definitely worth checking out are the café and art gallery.
Just 1km from the township, is our campground which is the perfect Banks Peninsula gateway to picturesque landscapes, beaches and scenic hideaways. Base yourself with us and spend the days exploring this stunning area.
Head to some of the different beaches for swimming or surfing or enjoy a scenic bike trail. If you enjoy bush walks, just a short stroll from our gate, is the entrance to an idyllic native bush walk. A must do!

Circumnavigating a peninsula is a unique experience – with the perfect example of this being Banks Peninsula, on the east coast of the South Island.
Walking tracks include the Little River Rail Trail, a flat, scenic path that connects to Christchurch, and more challenging routes like Montgomery Peak and parts of the Te Ara Pataka network.
Little River’s history dates back to the early 19th century when it was a thriving hub for Māori and European settlers.
