Good ol' fashioned fun and adventure

WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE DURING YOUR STAY

While we are a small campground, we still offer loads to do for the whole family.

Visitors overwhelmingly enjoy our unique retro setting with many praising the secluded valley location, surrounded by native forest and a river where you can hand feed longfin eels.

Our play areas, including a trampoline, slide, and swing, are a big hit with kid. Our walking trails offer a chance to easily explore the native bush.

Hand feed longfin eels

Feed the tame longfin eels – they like left over meat. These are a protected species so please be gentle with them and do educate with your children before arriving not to catch or harm them.

Gnarly bush slide

Take a whirl down the 20-metre long tunnel slide adorned with LED lights through the bush. It’s free! – no water.

Giant tree swing

Certainly not for the little ones or the faint-hearted, but definitely a must do if you love a wow challenge! Swing out and enjoy the amazing views.

Okuti Valley bush walk

Just along from the campground is a fabulous native forest loop walk takes approximately 20 minutes or you can follow on from the end of the forest walk up the Okuti Track all the way to the hill top which is roughly 2 hours each way.

Campfires

Definitely a camp favourite for all ages! Bring your marshmallows to toast around the campfire. This is usually only operating during the busy periods from around 8pm.

Native bird dawn chorus

Prepare yourself for a natural audio wonder of the daily early morning bird songs. Expect to hear the Tūī and Korimako (bellbird), Keraru, as well as Robins, Saddlebacks, Whiteheads, and Silvereyes. It is

Playground

A fun ol’skool playground complete with a ground level trampoline and climbing frames. Bring your own bikes, balls and other toys.
